- Zee Business: a report in its Branded section with the title above. Check the page for its date and any sponsor label.
How can you tell sponsored content from editorial reporting?
Look for a label, a section name, a byline and the source of every number.
- Section: the Republic World piece sits under an initiatives section and the Zee Business report under a Branded section, not news sections.
- Byline: ‘Initiative Desk’ names a desk, not a reporter.
- Label: Inc42's page says it is branded content by Inc42 BrandLabs, the brand solutions division of Inc42 Media.
- Sources: ask whether any figure points to a regulator, an exchange or an audited filing.
Which claims should you check yourself instead of trusting an article?
Check anything a regulator or exchange publishes: registration, exchange listing and complaints. Treat user counts, turnover and growth as company statements.

How do you verify Stockwiz's SEBI registration?
Stockwiz Technologies LLP, a SEBI-registered Research Analyst (INH000013925), can be checked on SEBI's recognised intermediaries page in four steps.
- Open SEBI's recognised intermediaries page and choose the Research Analyst category. On 3 Oct 2026 it showed that list dated 2 Oct 2026.
- Look for registration number INH000013925 and the name Stockwiz Technologies LLP.
- Read the registration status and validity dates shown.
- Compare the name and number with those on any advertisement, article or sales call.
Registration shows that the entity is registered. It says nothing about how any algo will perform. Our explainer Is StrykeX safe? covers what we can and cannot say about safety.
How do you check exchange empanelment?
Open NSE's empanelled algo providers page, download the list and search for the company's registered name. On 3 Oct 2026 the page linked a spreadsheet marked ‘Updated on: 22/09/2026’.

How do you verify complaints and raise one?
SEBI's SCORES portal lets you lodge a complaint against a SEBI-regulated entity and track it. SEBI's investor site says to take the complaint to the intermediary first, and describes SMART ODR as a further route.
- SEBI's SCORES FAQ says an entity must submit its action taken report within 21 calendar days of receipt.

How do you check performance claims?
Treat any return figure as unverified unless an independent verifier has checked it. Business Standard reported on 8 Dec 2025 that SEBI launched PaRRVA, the Past Risk and Return Verification Agency, to verify past-return claims and curb false performance claims.
